What I've been eating lately....

Lately I've been so random in what I've been eating. I've been trying to eat a whole bunch of different things yet trying to stay within my calorie limits. I find that tracking my calories is what work for me and for my body so that's what I do. I've been trying to remain eating healthy and yet trying new delicious foods.
Here are some pics of what I've been eating these past few weeks:

I've been lovinggg panera. I find that their food isn't crazy high on calories and yet it tastes so good. This picture is thier garden vegetable soup with the Asian chicken salad and a multigrain roll on the side. This is my favorite salad that they make and I like always get it. The soups I change up depending on my mood. Usually I tend to like all thier soups and find them all tasty.

I've turned back to eating flavored chobani yogurts. Last year I cut out most of the flavored ones and would eat the plain one a lot of the time. Recently I've been seeing all the new flavors come out and been wanting to try them. They do have a lot of sugar but they are still a better option than eating junk. I love eating them for breakfast and find them quick and easy. My life is usually on the go and these are a perfect fit for that. This particular flavor was the limited edition watermelon one. I really liked it but found it a bit too sweet. I probably would buy it again but haven't yet. I've been trying the oat ones lately and I like those a lot. Still need to try the pumpkin one :)
Last week I went to Applebee's with my friends. I was really hungry and craving something very filling. I wasn't in the mood for a salad which is what I would usually get. I decided to try the veggie burger with the side of seasonal vegetables. I ended up taking off the bottom piece of bread because I try not too eat too much bread. I ended up really liking the veggie burger. It was delicious and filled me up for most of the day. The side vegetables were delicious too and I'm glad I made the decision to get this plate :)

This is a breakfast I had at school a few days ago. As I've said, my days are really busy and it's hard for my to find time in between my schedule to eat a lot. So this is another yogurt that I've tried. It's another limited edition flavor but it's by dannon a light and fit line. This is the caramel apple pie flavor and it was really good. I liked the pieces of apple that were in it. Yet it was another one that was overly sweet so I probably won't purchase this again. Still have another one in my fridge of this that I need to eat. Also since school started I've been back to drinking along of coffee. Since I'm not a morning person, I need something to wake me up and give me a kick. This starbucks drink was a plain tall coffee with sugar free hazelnut. It was super good and definatly woke me up for the rest of the day. Yay for coffee lol.

But anyway these are just a few examples of what I've been eating. Hoping to get more on track with this blog because it really feels good to share my opinions. Byee guys ❤️

Update:)

Hey guyysss:) sorry for not posting in forever again. I kind of got very absorbed into summer and enjoying a break from school. I was also enjoying life and taking time to relax. I'm hopefully going to try to blog a lot more now. I want to make this blog more relatable and more focused on my daily life. I want this blog to be an outlet of my life. My college semester starts in a few days and I want to be able to blog to express myself and to just share. Also an update on my weight loss. I think I have gained about 4 or 5 pounds this summer. I went away on vacation for a week in the summer and didn't track what I ate at all. I basically ate ice cream and cookies everyday and just enjoyed myself. I was pretty strict with my diet all year so I decided to just let lose and enjoy the summer. It's ok because I'm starting got get back into eating healthy again. Hasn't been an easy journey  but I'm not stopping. I never want to go back to the weight I was before. I wasn't happy or anything. Now I'm not a hundred percent happy, but I'm a lot happier with my appearance than I was before. Here is a comparison picture of exactly a year ago to a week ago when I was at a party.

There is about a 30 pound difference in these pictures and I think you can really tell the difference. Anyway I'm going to be sharing my life and hopefully this blog helps keep me on track and towards a better healthier version of me:)

Talk to you later guys :)

Updateee

I know I haven't written a blog in a few weeks but I've just been so busy with school and life in general. I have still been trying to eat pretty healthy for the most part and workout at least twice a week. This week I already worked out at home once on a free morning that I had. Then tomorrow I'm hopefully going to go to the gym and do a Zumba and then some treadmill and elliptical. Hopefully those plans don't get ruined.
Today I've eaten pretty healthy. In the morning before class I had like 8 oz of water. Then after my first class I decided to have breakfast. Sorry I didn't take pictures but I had a Greek chobani fat free yogurt and then it added a trader joes trek mix which are in individual packets already and are 170 calories each. In the packet there is almonds, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, and pecans. I love this mix because it's so filling and yet portion controlled. Nuts are so easy to overeat and are high in calories so the fact that it's portions controlled makes it a lot easier. Plus it's good to just grab and go.
Then I had another class and then I came home for lunch. So I had a breaded chicken breast stuffed with broccoli and mozzerella cheese. I used a skinnytastte recipe to make them a few days ago and they are so good. They are also very filling. So I had one of those with a yellow bell pepper sliced up on the side. I had that with some black coffee because I've been craving coffee all day. So yea that's pretty much what I've eaten so far today. For dinner ill probably have some steamed string beans with some other veggies. Hope you all have a great day

Down 21 pounds and not stopping :) live life healthy :)

What I ate Wednesday

ThHey guys

So I've officially lost a total of 19 pounds since I've started in November of 2013.
Here is what I've eaten so far today in my weight loss journey:

Breakfast
So today for breakfast I had plain 2 percent yogurt a small container of it, on top I put about 1/3 cup of trader joes multigrain o's cereal. Then on top I cut up a whole banana and a little slice of pineapple cut into smaller pieces.and on top I sprinkled some cinnamon. This turned out so good because both the banana and pineapple were super sweet goving the whole bowl such a yummy taste. This was super filling too. On the side I just had a cup of plain black coffee.

For lunch I had this:
This is some green bell pepper cut up.this is about 2/3 of the pepper. The the mix is sautéed brown rice with ground turkey, celery, carrot and cabbage. I had about a cup of the rice mix.it was super good and filling as well. On the side I just had plain water.

Then as a snack for work I brought this with me :
This is 2 celery hearts chopped up .6 baby carrot and the rest of the green bell pepper that I had for lunch. I figured this would be a nice healthy snack to bring with me. With me I also brought tazo zen green tea which has some lemongrass and spearmint in it. One of my favorite teas.

And for dinner ill probably have some mixed bean soup and an apple as a dessert after.

So that is what I ateWednesday. Hope you guys enjoyed this :)

What my day was like today

Today was a pretty good day. For breakfast I had oat bran pancakes that had egg, oat bran, reduced fat milk and a little bit of sugar. I ate them with plain Greek yogurt mixed with a little honey and cinnamon. Definatly was a really good breakfast and very filling.  I also had plain black coffee with that.

I also worked out at the gym today. This was my progress:
I did the elliptical for a little and the treadmill. Was a really good workout and I'm all worn out.

After that for lunch I had stir fry with egg, kale, spinach,  red onion, beef cutlet chopped up and a few baby tomatoes.i had that all in a bowl with some hot sauce and it was really good

And for dinner I'm just going to have an apple with some almond butter because I'm not that hungry.

That's all for today:)

Bye guys<3

Health post of the day

Today was a good day for me health wise. It was a snow day so class was canceled. I had the morning off to do pretty much whatever I wanted. So I started off the day just relaxing and catching up on the blogger and vloggers that I follow. I love watching them for ideas to inspire me and motivation to eat healthier and live a healthier lifestyle. After a whole of relaxing I decided it was time to have breakfast. So for breakfast I decided to have:

This is plain Greek chobani yogurt fat free with 1/4 cup multigrain o's from trader joes, then on top is one big strawberry cut up and a medium banana. Then I sprinkled some cinnamon on top for some extra flavor and I love it. I've never been a big fan of cinnamon but I've been reading a lot about the health benefits. I decided to purchase some this weekend and it's definatly the perfect addition to breakfast.  Then I also had coffee with 1/4 cup almond milk. Normally I have my coffee black but today I was just craving almond milk. Probably because I was starving this morning. All together this was under 300 calories which is amazing for the amount of food I had. Super healthy and nutritious.

I also did some working out today which is amazing because I haven't been working out lately. I first did some of my version of Zumba which is pretty much me blasting music and doing a ton of moves that I remember from all the classes I've taken in different gyms. Then after a while I got bored of it and decided to do the tone it up total body workout on YouTube. That was definatly intense. After not working out for a long time my body wasn't used to moving so many muscles. It was hard but felt good on my body. I really liked it and will probably do it again soon. My result of my workout was:

About 15 minutes after working out I had some passion fruit zico coconut water for the first time. I also bought it this weekend and I bought passion fruit because the passion fruit flavor was on sale. I drank about half of it. It wasn't the best drink I ever tried but it was drinkable. I wanted to try it because I heard how good it is and because it has a lot of potassium which is good for the body. I don't think I'll be repurchasing this flavor but I might try some other flavor of the zico water to see if ill like them more.

Then an hour after that I had lunch which I forgot to take a picture of but I had some baked seasoned salmon. I had about 4 ounces of that. I also had a yellow bell pepper chopped up and some leftover sautéed cabbage with tomato, mushrooms, carrots and a third of an Italian sausage. I had about a cup of the sautéed mix. The mix was from dinner last night but it was so good that I just wanted some of the leftovers for lunch. With the lunch I also had some plain hot green tea. Green tea is super healthy and full of antioxidants. I try to have green yea at least once a day.  Throughout the day I've also drank one 16 oz bottle of water.

So that's been pretty much my health of the day. For dinner ill probably have something not too heavy since I don't feel that hungry.

Thanks for reading my blog. I'll keep you guys updated with more of my meals and progress.

Lost 1 pound this week:)

Update :My new healthy lifestyle change!

Heyy guyss...

Again i disappeared from this blog for a super long time. Didn't mean to do that but life kind of got crazy. Lately i've been in a health kick though and have lost about 15 pounds. Now i've been thinking and decided i want to add blog posts based on nutrition and health. This semester in college im also going to be taking food science so I figure I can apply some of my knowledge here on this blog. This will also act as a personal motivation to keep on track and to keep eating well.

Here are some before and after pics of my progress so far :

Before: August 2013

 After December 2013
 After: January 2014: most current
Now that ive started im not stopping. I havent been as good as i was in the beginning, but im getting back on track to lose more weight. The first month i was at the gym about 4 times a week but since then i havent had time. I will start going again once i get some time to myself.

Here are a few ideas of what ive been eating to lose the weight and be healthy:

Ive been having this type of breakfast almost every weekday. Its just so quick and easy for me. Im not a morning person so quick and easy is perfect for me on the go. This picture is Chobani cherry greek yogurt with a banana on top. The dunkin donuts coffee is just plain black coffee without anything added. This was just a day i had to go somewhere before i had breakfast, so on the way i just got dunkin. Usually i make my own black coffee with my keurig coffee maker. Quick and easy , simple breakfast that usually fills me up in the morning.

This is a lunch i make when im craving something simple yet delicious. This is a whole wheat wrap with a can of tuna, light mayo, half an avocado and some red onion. Its super filling and gives me energy. I am obsessed with red onions and avocados so this is a good lunch for me. Lately i havent been eatting this though since we ran out of avocados but soon ill eat it again.

This is also something ive tried last month and loved them. I havent bought any since because they are kind of pricey. I saw alot of rave about it on instagram and thats why i decided to try them. They are super tasty and filling. I had one as a snack after lunch and wasnt even hungry at nighttime. They are definatly a good healthy treat. The no added sugar is definatly a plus.

Well thats all for now. Hopefully i continue with my health kick and actually maintain this blog.

Bye bye for now :)
